Couponwaly study: how much does a promo code really save before White Friday 2026?

Every year before White Friday, Gulf shoppers see “up to 70% off” everywhere. We wanted to know something simpler: how much does a promo code itself take off your basket? On 24 October 2026 we checked every working code on couponwaly.com. Here is what we found.

Key findings

  • We found 149 working codes from 83 stores on the site on 24 October 2026.
  • Of these, 46 codes state a percentage. The median is 10%, and the average (excluding one outlier) is 10.1%.
  • 39 of those 46 codes sit between 5% and 10%. Only 6 go above 10%: three at 15%, and one each at 20%, 25% and 30%.
  • By category, furniture and kitchen is highest at 14.4% on average, and beauty and health is lowest at 5.7%.

How we did it

On 24 October 2026 we took every code listed as working on couponwaly.com. Many codes give a fixed amount, free delivery or a gift instead of a percentage, so only the 46 codes with a stated percentage were used for the averages and the median. One delivery-app code advertises up to 90% on a first order. We excluded it from all averages because it applies to one order type only and would distort the picture. These are the codes we list, not every code that exists in the market, so read the numbers as a snapshot of our own catalogue.

What this means for shoppers

“Up to 70%” is not what a code gives you. Big headline discounts usually apply to a few selected items. A typical code takes about 10% off. Do not plan your budget around the headline number.

Stack a code on sale prices when the store allows it. A 10% code on an item already marked down can still be worth it, but many stores block codes on discounted items. Try the code at checkout and look at the total before and after.

Read the terms. Minimum basket values, excluded brands and country limits decide whether a code works for you.

New customer or existing customer? Some of the biggest percentages are for first orders only. If you already have an account, a smaller code that works for everyone may be the better bet.

How the percentages are spread

Of the 46 codes with a stated percentage, 27 are exactly 10% and 11 are 5%. One code is 7%. At the top end there are three codes at 15%, and one each at 20%, 25% and 30%. So the market is clustered tightly: a code above 15% is the exception, not the rule.

The codes also differ by country. On the same day, 149 codes were available for Saudi Arabia, 115 for Kuwait and 70 for the UAE. Many of the same stores appear in more than one country, so these counts overlap and should not be added together. At the same time, 69 stores in our index had no working code right now, and we say so openly on their pages instead of showing an expired code.

For journalists: how to cite this study

You are free to quote and cite these figures. Please link to this page and name the date of the data (24 October 2026). For questions or the underlying breakdown, write to [email protected].

One more tip: always compare the final price after the code, not the percentage written on the button. The real difference shows in the total at checkout, including delivery fees.

FAQ

Is 10% a good code?

It is the typical one. Half of the codes with a stated percentage are at or below 10%, so 10% is the middle of the market we track.

Why were some codes left out of the averages?

Codes that give free delivery or a fixed amount have no percentage to average. The 90% first-order delivery code was excluded as an outlier.

Will the numbers change on White Friday?

Possibly. White Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November. This study is a snapshot from before the sale season, and you can follow the latest offers on our White Friday 2026 page.
